Our Legislation Passed!

On October 18, 2004, the City's Land Use Committee held a hearing on our legislation and unanimously approved it.

Supervisors Dufty and Ammiano and members of the public testified for the legislation, and the committee recommended approval.

Supervisors Peskin and Maxwell asked to cosponsor the legislation.

Then, on October 22, 2004, the full Board of Supervisors unanimously passed the legislation.

DPT implemented the changes in the spring of 2005.

The legislation:

  • Removed two lanes of traffic between Cesar Chavez and Randall
  • Added bicycle lanes
  • Widened the median (using paint)
  • Converted tow-away zones to parking at Cesar Chavez and Dolores
  • Removed the second right-turn lane onto Cesar Chavez
  • Removed the second left-turn lane onto Dolores
