The Demonstration on July 19, 2004 was a Huge Success!

More than 100 people demonstrated with us on July 19, 2004 at the corner of Cesar Chavez and Guerrero to protest the speed of traffic and unsafe conditions for pedestrians along San Jose/Guerrero.

Gillian Gillett spoke about her experience of living on San Jose/Guerrero with a two year old daughter. Supervisors Bevan Dufty and Tom Ammiano both spoke about how long the neighborhood has been held hostage to cars and how that's about to change. Captain Springer of the San Francisco Police Department described his personal experience of living on Guerrero and having his house damaged twice by cars.

The Little Bear School, The Katherine Michiels School, Walk SF, The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition and Senior Action Network came to walk with us and show their support.

The event was well attended by the media, and was shown on English, Spanish and Chinese language television, and in print media as well.
