St. Luke's has Important Economic Impacts

The Largest Employer in the Mission

About 850 people work at St. Luke's. Hundreds of them work at relatively highly paid jobs that don't require a lot of education--a job category San Francisco is particularly interested in maintaining.

CPMC is the third largest employer in San Francisco.

Many Employees are also Nearby Residents

About 200 employees live in the neighborhoods immediately surrounding the hospital.

Patients and Staff Spend Millions

More than 2,000 people are at St. Luke's each day; businesses as much as a mile away depend on customers from St. Luke's.

...Which Should Continue

In order to protect the ecomomic vitality of the neighborhood, we should make sure that St. Luke's Campus continues to be the same economic engine it is now.
